If I have learnt anything in my 40+ years as a lawyer, it is that by listening very intently to my clients and fully understanding their particular needs, I can work strategically on their behalf so they achieve the success they are seeking from the outset.

We have two ears and one mouth, and I firmly believe in listening twice as much as talking, so taking the time to comprehend my client’s brief means I am better prepared to assess their individual requirements before offering solutions that will work to their benefit. Tackling complex legal issues head-on is just part of what I do, especially in the areas of litigation and dispute resolution.

I have particular focus on international clients, and I’ve represented clients in Europe, Asia, North America and Australasia. In addition to being a Solicitor, I’m also a Notary Public and a Commissioner for Oaths as well as acting as a Presiding Officer under Garda Discipline Regulations.

Significant representation

  • Advised on multi-million euro cross-border transactions concerning the breach of pharmaceutical patents
  • Advice on purchasing and tax structures of large marine vessels valued in excess of €30m
  • Involved in leading Irish case in minority shareholder oppression

For over 30 years, I have brought patience, a calm head and a commonsense approach to bear on numerous divorce and judicial separation cases, treating each with a compassion and understanding that comes from being an accredited mediator. Family law, by its very nature, is an emotional and potentially difficult area that demands these particular skillsets. By listening to my clients and evaluating their position, I can develop an agreeable and workable solution.

This approach is just as relevant in other areas of legal work in which I am involved. These can include probate, estate planning, defamation, personal injury* and leading individuals in the international entertainment business. I have lectured extensively on the areas of Family Law and the Administration of Estates, and am a founding member of the Institute of Irish Legal Executives.

*In contentious business, a solicitor may not calculate fees or other charges as a percentage or proportion of any award or settlement

Significant representation

  • Significant representation of high net worth clients in High Court divorce/judicial separation cases
  • Continuous advice and representation of entertainment industry clients (including a world-renowned rock star)
  • Representation in leading Irish case on insolvent estate administration
